Rejected Lore 3 – Steeping of the bag

At Budgie we write a lot of lore, but we also write a lot of bad lore that doesn’t make it into the game. This is the Rejected Lore.

Rejected Lore 3 – Steeping of the bag

Mithrax sat with Lord Saladin as the Guardians battled it out in the Crucible.

“I notice that some of the guardians do not try to capture the zones.  Are those the ones you refer to as strawberries?”

“The term is blueberries, but I do not condone its use.”

“It must take much management to match equally skilled guardians together in these matches, I do not envy the human in charge of that.”

“The work is not negligible, but we match them based on their home’s proximity to the crucible arena.”

“It is a strange thing. If you throw a dog to the wolves, it does not come back a wolf.  The dog gets eaten by the wolves. Nevertheless, at least your wolves have some honor.

Tell me, Lord Saladin, what is the meaning of those movements your victors often make over top of their vanquished.  They seem to celebrate their defeated brethren by moving their buttocks in an up and down motion.”

Lord Saladin paused in thought, trying to remember the lie he told outsiders.
“Tea is a sacred ceremonial drink from ancient China. They are offering them a ‘Steeping of the bag’.”

“It is no wonder our Eliksni were abandoned by the great machine.  We only “honor” our foes with the one-finger salute.  Haha.  It is a funny sight, the four-handed Eliksni running towards you aiming an Auto Rifle and also offering two one-finger salutes.”
