Rejected Lore 2 – Vex Mythoclast

At Budgie we write a lot of lore, but we also write a lot of bad lore that doesn’t make it into the game. This is the Rejected Lore.

Rejected Lore – Vex Mythoclast

Sometimes time loops collapse and collapse loops time sometimes.

Decades ago there were two weapons in a vex simulation, an Auto Rifle and a Fusion Rifle, sitting in a trash bin, covered in saliva.  That’s where they should have remained, but that simulation collapsed.  During the final moments of that collapse, knowing the end was near, the Fusion Rifle took the Auto Rifle from behind and thrusted mightily.  The Auto Rifle really enjoyed it.  The Auto Rifle, impregnated with fusion goodness bursted and a new weapon was born.  A mutated, deformed, bastard of a weapon.

Infinite dimensions of time exist within this weapons casing.  The bullets, after being fired, exist for 7 eternities until they emerge with the strength of a tired old man. An old man who has to ask his granddaughter to open a bottle of pickles for him, not a new bottle of pickles, a bottle that’s already had its seal broken. An old man who wears a diaper because his muscles are too weak to hold in his own urine.  An old man who doesn’t have the willpower to pull himself away from the video game, whose developers keep recycling in old weapons.  An old man who once tossed two useless weapons into a trash bin and spat on them.

The Vex have, once and for all, proven the timeless adage ”two wrongs don’t make a right”, but they can dispel a myth.

Aim this at your enemies and wait. When your enemies die, you’ll be a tired old man looking for a trash can.
